Unit 1: Understanding Document Control for Quality Management Systems
Duration: 3 hours
It all starts with consistency, compliance, and accurateness. Understand the concepts of centralized documentation: learn to communicate in a solid way and keep individuals informed and compliant with the thousands of policies and procedures they may come into contact with at any given time.

Unit 2: Setting up Document Control for a New Project
Duration: 7 hours
Understanding the purpose of the process as well as its scope are critical factors in developing process documentation. Now you can begin to map out the sequential tasks involved to take an item from 'initiated' to 'done.'
Result: At the end of the workshop, participants will have gained the knowledge to:
Analyze requirements (internal, client’s, project management team)
Plan what needs to be implemented
Prepare for the project kick-off
Design workflows
Unit 3: Establishing Sound Documentation Metrics
Setting metrics helps your organization know if they’re headed in the right direction.
Duration: 4 hours
Result: At the end of the workshop, participants will have gained the knowledge to:
Measure performance using KPIs (*) and metrics
Design statistics for the management team
Understand users’ requirements
Present and communicate meaningful, fit-for-purpose, useful statistics and reports
Unit 4: Writing Document Control Procedures, Specifications & Requirements
Duration: 8 hours
This is where all the magic happens. Create your own process documentation and mechanisms.
Result: At the end of the workshop, participants will have gained the knowledge to:
Understand what makes a good Document Control procedure
Create easy to understand procedures/requirements
Create mechanisms for improving/updating procedures
Create a Use Case, a sample process documentation for your organization
Unit 5: Implementing a Document Management System
Duration: 4 hours
Once the documentation is all there, you’ll learn how to continually update it and make sure that the team is using it consistently.
Result: At the end of the workshop, participants will have gained the knowledge to:
Demonstrate how to use software applications for document control
Properly revise and update controlled documents
Establish document retention policies
Properly retire obsolete controlled documents
Understand what certification bodies look for regarding document and record control
