My Personal Injury Story

"I experienced the stress and pain of getting left without an attorney right before my court date because my “recommended-by-a-friend” attorney got suspended.""

The Trustini Project is about helping others in a vulnerable position.

I created a matrix to evaluate personal injury attorneys and use it to match injured persons, at NO COST, to a Trustini Vetted Local Attorney.

I also collect stories from injured persons on how they overcame the physical, mental and emotional challenges of their injuries, to help others heal as well.

And what gets me super excited is that for each person I place with a Trustini Vetted Local Attorney, Trustini donates to the Crisis Text Line supporting yet another person in their time of crisis .

We're all on this journey together. No one should have to face anything alone.

That's what the Trustini Project is all about.

Hi, I'm Dafne Canales, the founder of The Trustini Project. I started this project because in 2018 I got a traumatic brain injury. Three months later I was in a legal dispute and I didn't know anything about attorneys or the legal system.

Even though someone highly recommended the attorney that I chose, I soon found out he wasn't the right fit for me and my case.

Three days before my court date, my attorney got suspended. I had to find a new law firm, tell them the whole story again, and pay more fees. Luckily, the second time, I found the right law firm for me.

Had I known about attorneys and the legal process, I would have vetted that first attorney and I would have vetted the second one, too.

I would have known that my first attorney often got suspended and that there was a chance that might happen again.

So that's why I started The Trustini Project, because I know what it's like to be injured, to be in pain, to not be able to think clearly, and to have to navigate this whole legal process.

I wish someone would have held my hand through those stressful times.

I wish someone could have been there to tell me what I needed to know about my first meeting, and what I should have expected from my attorney.

I wish I would have asked for more help. Now, I’m here to help others in a vulnerable situation.
